What does the adBlue warning light look like on Peugeot and Citroën ?

To identify the AdBlue warning light on your Peugeot or Citroën, check your dashboard. In most vehicles, it is located near the speedometer.
It is represented as an orange icon with a wave symbol and the word "AdBlue" or sometimes "UREA" on certain models.
Depending on your vehicle’s year and model, a warning message such as "… km lockout, refill AdBlue"may also appear on your dashboard.
If in doubt, refer to your car's service manual.
Why does the adBlue warning light turn on ?
Your AdBlue or UREA warning light can illuminate for different reasons, which must be identified first to find the appropriate solution.
Initially, if the light is flashing or remains on, the first step is to check the fluid level in the tank. If the warning light persists or is accompanied by the check engine light, this could indicate a more serious issue affecting the vehicle's emission control system.
How to turn off the adBlue warning light on Peugeot
Manually Resetting the AdBlue Warning Light
- Refill the AdBlue tank : Use an AdBlue fluid approved by the manufacturer (available at service stations, garages, etc.) to avoid damaging your vehicle.
- Restart the car : Simply restarting your vehicle after refilling the AdBlue tank may be enough to turn off the warning light.
- Perform a Driving Cycle : Sometimes, the warning light disappears after driving a certain distance or completing multiple trips.
- Diagnosis and Treatment : If the warning light remains on, contact after-sales service or a certified garage. The issue may require further intervention, such as using a Car Diagnostics Scanner to check the electronic system.

The adBlue warning light stays on after refilling
Possible Reasons
- AdBlue crystallization : AdBlue can crystallize when exposed to air or extreme temperatures. The crystals can clog the injectors or part of the tank, leading to a system malfunction.
- Injector issues : These components are essential for injecting AdBlue into the exhaust system, but they can become clogged due to crystallization or impurities in the fluid.
- Tank problems : Overfilling or overflowing the AdBlue tank can cause deformation due to excessive pressure or crystal formation.
- Blocked sensor : The sensor detects the fluid level in the tank and may malfunction due to electronic failure, falsely indicating an empty tank.
- Electrical issues : Communication problems between different system components may also occur.
